What is Model Fine-Tuning?
Customizing a pre-trained AI model with additional training data to specialize its output for specific styles, subjects, or use cases.
How it works
Fine-tuning takes a pre-trained model and continues training it on a specialized dataset. This adapts the model's general capabilities to specific needs without training from scratch. In AI video and image production, fine-tuning is used to teach models specific brand aesthetics, product appearances, character designs, or visual styles. Full fine-tuning is computationally expensive, which is why techniques like LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) and DreamBooth have become popular alternatives that achieve customization with far less compute and data.
