Prompt engineering for video extends image prompting with temporal and motion-specific language. Effective video prompts include subject description (what appears in the scene), action/motion description (what movement occurs), camera description (camera angle and movement), style/mood description (visual aesthetic and atmosphere), and technical parameters (resolution, length, speed). The most common mistake is writing prompts that are too vague. Instead of 'a bird flying', write 'a white dove flying left to right against a clear blue sky, slow motion, cinematic lighting, static camera, shallow depth of field'. Each additional detail gives the model more to work with and produces more predictable results.
