Our verdict

Veo 3.1 produces the highest quality AI video output we have seen. Full stop. The native audio synchronization is a genuine differentiator, especially for dialogue scenes and brand content where lip sync matters. We use the Lite tier for exploration and the Fast tier for client work. The Standard tier at $0.75/second is hard to justify unless the client is paying for it explicitly. The 8-second clip limit is the main constraint. For anything longer, you are stitching clips in post, which requires careful prompt continuity. The Vertex AI API setup is more complex than Runway or fal.ai, but once configured, it is reliable. We recommend Veo for hero content where audio synchronization is critical and Runway for longer-form cinematic work.
