Our verdict
HeyGen serves a completely different market from generative tools like Runway or Kling. It creates talking-head avatar videos, not cinematic AI content. We do not use HeyGen in our production pipeline because our clients expect craft-quality output, and avatar-based video cannot deliver that. HeyGen is the right tool for corporate training videos, product walkthroughs, and multilingual content localization. If a client asks for talking-head content, we recommend HeyGen directly rather than trying to produce it with generative tools.
